AI product development
From an idea and a domain you know well, to something people can use.
We take an AI product from nothing to a working, launchable version: architecture, the model work, the interface around it, and the evaluation harness that tells you whether it still works next month.
Full builds start at $4,500, fixed scope and fixed price. You own every line, every prompt and every eval from the first commit. Building a first version? See AI MVP development, or MVP development if AI is not the core of the product.
Who this is for
Someone with deep knowledge of a problem and no engineering team - a domain expert, a consultant who has automated their own workflow in spreadsheets, a founder who needs something demonstrable to raise or to show a design partner. The expertise is real; the missing piece is a team who has shipped this kind of system before.
What you get
- 01Architecture, the model work and the interface around it.
- 02An evaluation harness from the first week rather than the last.
- 03Weekly demos on a staging environment you can use, and written status you can forward.
- 04Production deployment on your accounts, with monitoring and cost dashboards.
- 05A feature flag in front of the AI path, and a rollback that is a config change rather than a release.
- 06Documentation, runbooks, the eval harness and a recorded walkthrough.
How a build runs
- 01free, 60 minutes
Strategy session
What the product should do for one specific user, what data exists, what success looks like as a number. We also say what we would not build.
- 022-3 days
Scope and fixed quote
A written scope, an explicit out-of-scope list, one price and one date. The number does not move unless the scope does.
- 033-12 weeks
Build
Weekly demos on a staging environment you can use, written status you can forward, and an evaluation harness from the first week rather than the last.
- 04final week
Launch
Production deployment on your accounts, monitoring and cost dashboards, a feature flag in front of the AI path, and a rollback that is a config change rather than a release.
- 05included
Handover
Documentation, runbooks, the eval harness and a recorded walkthrough.
What separates a demo from a product
This is the gap that surprises people, so here it is explicitly.
| Area | Demo | Product |
|---|---|---|
| Data | A clean sample | Everything, including the 2014 scans |
| Wrong answers | Nobody notices | A refusal path and a confidence threshold |
| Permissions | One user, all data | Retrieval filtered by who is asking |
| Change | Edit the prompt and hope | A regression suite that runs on every change |
| Cost | Irrelevant at ten queries | Instrumented per request, with alerts |
| Failure | Restart it | A feature flag, a fallback and a logged trace |
| Handover | It lives on a laptop | Runbooks, documentation and a recording |
The right-hand column is most of the cost of an AI product, and it is the reason a demo built in an afternoon is not 80% of the way there. We build the right-hand column; that is the service.
Builds from $4,500, most landing between $8,000 and $25,000.
See pricing for the published rates and what moves them. If you would rather have engineers on your team than a delivered project, dedicated pods start at $2,800 a month.
Frequently asked questions
That is the common case here. We take product decisions to you in plain language, write down the trade-offs, and hand over documentation a future CTO can actually read. We will also tell you when a decision is genuinely yours rather than ours.
You do, from the first commit - code, prompts, eval data, infrastructure definitions and documentation. Not on final payment, not on completion. We retain no licence and keep no copy after handover.
Your choice of a dedicated engineer on a monthly basis or a scoped maintenance arrangement. There is no obligation to keep us - the documentation and eval harness exist precisely so another team can pick it up.
A launchable first version starts at $4,500 and most land between $8,000 and $25,000 depending on integration count, data quality and how much of the product is the AI part.
